Explorer, Journalist, and Thief Archaeologist

Who Is A'madi Phyra?A'madi, or just Madi/Maddie for short (either spelling is fine), is an Ul'dahni native with street smarts and curiosity in equal measure. Growing up on the streets of such a city led her to be rather tough, but her eagerness to both learn new things and right the injustices of the world soften what you would expect to be a thorny exterior. If asked, she'd say her most important skill is 'luck': Madi's a master of improv, and often makes it by day-to-day just by using whatever's around her and a little ingenuity. One rather amusing flaw in Madi's curiosity is the insatiable urge to collect unique gadgets and artifacts. A habit inspired by her late father, Madi will go to great lengths to acquire neat little trinkets, especially if they happen to belong to corrupt individuals in need of a little humbling. Using that trademark luck and some creative application of her trinket collection, Madi gets by just fine.Nowadays she does work for hire as needed, but is more often scoping out the next intriguing gadget or artifact to add to her collection. One day Madi might strike out to explore an uncharted ruin based solely on a few rumors, the next day she might break into an auction house attend an auction and steal the cool stuff add a few items to her collection. She lives on whims alone, which makes her just as many allies as it does enemies....okay, maybe it makes more enemies than allies....okay okay, it's mostly enemies. Let's not worry about that part.On top of her collecting habits, Madi does make an honest living to pad her savings: she'll often write articles for independent publications and academic journals about anything from her findings out in the field to exposés on corrupt people in positions of power. This... also hasn't made her a ton of friends, but she tries not to worry about it. Someone's gotta poke at the corrupt underbelly of capitalism, right?Essential Info:Gender/Sexuality: Female/Bisexual

I've made my own plotlines, combat systems, and have played in more genres of story than I can reasonably count. With that in mind, I'm very flexible with what goes on with Madi during RP! Be it action, slice-of-life, comedy, romance, darker themes, whatever it may be, I've done it and will happily do it again! Madi is a very new character with little established history, so if you think you would know her or want to have some sort of prior history with her, that's very possible! Just check out my 'About Me' page to find my contact info and reach out!Madi's Backstory:If you'd like to be spoiled on Madi's life story (mainly flashbacks involving her relationship with her father), then feel free to read these little drabbles! If you'd rather learn organically, that's fine too! Just posting it here for posterity, really.
Hello! You can actually call me Maddie (it's my real name toooooo) but I also go by my discord username, Punchfrog. I play on Balmung with sporadic hours, although I'm a teacher so my hours are slightly more regular during school months. If you're interested in RPing, lemme know! Here's how to reach me:
1. In game, I play on A'madi Phyra (shocking, I know). Just do a player search if you're looking for me or use my discord, which is the next option on the list!
2. I usually have access to discord all the time, even though I may be busy with IRL obligations at the time still. My discord is Punchfrog, feel free to friend me or message me! Maybe just mention you're coming from FFXIV when you first message me though. <3
Lemme know if you ever wanna play or just hang out, I'm usually game! I have also made some low-math RP combat systems for use in FFXIV RP if you're interested, so you can always hit me up to learn about my systems! Either way, hope to see you in game sometime! <3 <3 <3
Madi can throw a mean punch and carries a few daggers just in case, but beyond that is pretty much a regular person! However, a collection of oddities and relics are what often end up giving Madi the leg up, with the ones listed here being her most faithful sidearms:1. G18 Clipper Revolver - A piece of equipment designed without the safety of the user in mind, the Clipper fires gunbreaker cartridges in a tiny, handheld package. All six chambers can hold their own cartridge, allowing for some level of flexibility in what the wielder can do, but it also means the user must have a grip of steel and great technique, otherwise the user will take just as much damage as the target.2. Soyokaze - Made of darksteel, this large ridged bat looks as if it would be far too heavy for a person of Madi’s size to wield. However, the extraordinary part of it is not the external make, but the aetheric makeup: from a power source as of yet unknown to Madi, a swirl of wind-aspected aether keeps the gear aloft for Madi and assists with her swings, making it hit harder and feel weightless in her hands. This weightlessness is via attunement, however… Madi is connected to it, but anyone else who tries will have to bear the full weight of the metal.3. ??? - An as-of-yet unnamed relic from Yanxia, the metal components of it seem to align into the shape of a planisphere. A set of metal cards are included as well, a bit bulkier than traditional Astroligan equipment but with a warmth that feels unnatural. When attuned, the planisphere ignites and (thanks to the assistance of an ally) can charge each card with explosive fiery aether before launching it. Due to there only being twelve cards and the need for a literal cool-down period, only twelve shots can be fired before the planisphere needs a full-day recharge.
